PRIYO Yakhiiphupha was struggling to introduce computer skills to Ulwazi High school. As the school had no existing infrastructure (Computer lab) in place. We asked many corporate companies to assist us in providing laptops/ tablets to the school. We ended up funding the school with 5 Laptops this was not enough as we had 25 children sharing one laptop. The situation was so bad that some children had to stand.

Thanks to Red Bull & Quirky30 for donating laptops. This has helped us to provide access to skills training in technology. To train learners in IT: End User Computing, and E-Learning. These skills help them in completing their homework, searching for information online, applying for university entrance and bursaries. Ensuring that they receive opportunities that exist beyond the rural or township boundaries.

Thanks to the Department of Defence for their adopt a school campaign. They funded a fully furnished computer lab to Wongalethu high school in Mdantsane NU 2. PRIYO Yakhiiphupha has been granted the privilege of introducing these young minds to computer literacy skills.  Thanks to the partnership of the Eastern Cape Department of Education and Vodacom foundation the teachers were given laptops as well which will help them provide E-Learning to the students. We are proud to see the Eastern Cape adapting to this technology and we hope to see more schools receiving training in technology skills, which will allow young people opportunities in STEM careers.
